As part of last year's 365 Days Project, there is this really interesting and weird bunch of Italian renditions of American classics (although I really hope those songs aren't remembered as the American canon down the road). Click the picture and look around on the project's site. The tracks are all free to download.
Ronnie Gaylord and Burt Bonaldie made up the singing duo of The Gaylords, a popular lounge pop act back in the 50's. Here is their American Hits, sung in Italian. In Yakety Yak, instead of "don't talk back" it's "shut upa you face" (long before the novelty number in the 70's).
